The briefing will take place on Friday, February 27, at 9:00 a.m. in Rayburn House Office Building Room 2075.<\/p>\n<p>Panelists <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cla.purdue.edu\/directory\/profiles\/ekaterina-babintseva.html\">Ekaterina Babintseva<\/a> (Purdue Univ.), <a href=\"https:\/\/as.vanderbilt.edu\/history\/bio\/sarah-igo\/\">Sarah Igo<\/a> (Vanderbilt Univ.), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cla.purdue.edu\/directory\/profiles\/aaron-mendon-plasek.html\">Aaron Mendon-Plasek<\/a> (Purdue Univ.), and <a href=\"https:\/\/sts.cornell.edu\/rebecca-slayton\">Rebecca Slayton<\/a> (Cornell Univ.) will provide historical context on privacy and national security issues that have been transformed by technology and now AI. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cla.purdue.edu\/directory\/profiles\/kathryn-cramer-brownell.html\">Kathryn Cramer Brownell<\/a> (Purdue Univ.) will serve as moderator.<\/p>\n<p>This briefing was originally scheduled for October 29, 2025. Due to the government shutdown, the in-person briefing was postponed and the panelists recorded a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historians.org\/event\/congressional-briefing-historical-perspectives-on-artificial-intelligence\/\">webinar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The AHA\u2019s Congressional Briefings series seeks to provide Congressional staff members, journalists, and other members of the policy community with the historical context essential to understanding contemporary issues.
