Panelists <a href=\"https:\/\/history.umd.edu\/directory\/melinda-baldwin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Melinda Baldwin<\/a> (Univ. of Maryland), <a href=\"https:\/\/search.asu.edu\/profile\/4739440\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arthur Daemmrich<\/a> (Arizona State Univ.), and <a href=\"https:\/\/carey.jhu.edu\/faculty\/bhaven-sampat-phd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bhaven Sampat<\/a> (Johns Hopkins Univ.) discussed the history of the federal government\u2019s approach toward science in public policy, and how the government has supported and funded scientific research and innovation over time.
