We promote the critical role of historical thinking in public life, lead the discipline, and advocate for historians everywhere. Together, and with your support, we can continue our important work.<\/p>\n<p><em>The AHA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All or part of your gift may be tax deductible as a charitable contribution.<\/em><\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/secure.historians.org\/members\/services\/cgi-bin\/memberdll.dll\/info?wrp=donations.htm\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMake a Contribution\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tAdvocacy Fund\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Contributions to the advocacy fund support the AHA&#8217;s work protecting the rights and careers of historians, encouraging historical practice in diverse venues, and championing the important role honest history plays in education and culture.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tOperating Fund\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>We use contributions to the general operating fund to support current projects on behalf of the discipline.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tAHA Council Annual Meeting Travel Support Fund\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Contributions to the Council Annual Meeting Travel Support Fund will subsidize attendance at the annual meeting for graduate students and un\/underemployed historians.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tEndowment Fund\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Income generated from the AHA&#8217;s general endowment supports basic operations and provides a reserve for any new programs the AHA might pursue to support research, teaching, and professional activities in the history discipline.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tJames R. Grossman Fund\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Contributions to the James R. Grossman Fund are used to support current projects and advocacy work on behalf of the discipline. The fund was established to honor the enormous contributions of Jim Grossman, AHA executive director from 2010-25.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tLGBTQ History Research Fund\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>The AHA&#8217;s Committee on LGBTQ Status in the Profession is raising funds to support an annual $500 grant to support new and continuing research in LGBTQ history, available to scholars working in all temporal and geographic fields. Open to scholars at all career levels, this grant will especially serve graduate students and early career researchers working on LGBTQ history. We invite donations of any amount to contribute to initial funding for this grant.<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tSpecial Funds\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>The AHA sometimes seeks support for the establishment of new programs or to bolster existing endowed funds. Currently, we are soliciting contributions to\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historians.org\/award-grant\/wesley-logan-prize\/\"><b>Wesley-Logan Prize<\/b><\/a> in African diaspora history, the<b> James M. Banner, Jr., Lectureship Fund<\/b> to support an annual lecture on the state of the discipline of history, the <b>James G. Stofer Fund for Teachers<\/b> for grants to support the participation of community college and public high school teachers in AHA activities and programs, and a new<b> Middle East History Prize <\/b>for a work of extraordinary scholarly distinction, creativity, and originality in the history of the Middle East, inclusive of Southwest Asia, North Africa, and related territories, since the seventh century.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\t\tHow to Give\t<\/h3>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tSupport Our Work\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>There are many ways to support the AHA. (CARS) to accept donated vehicles. For every car donated, AHA receives 70% of the net proceeds received from the gross sale of the vehicle at a dealer auction.
