This document suggests specific changes to improve draft standards as the Department of Education prepares for a final round of edits before anticipated adoption in April. We encourage Virginians to attend one of <a title=\"Review &amp; Revision of the 2023 History &amp; Social Science Standards of Learning | VDOE\" href=\"https:\/\/www.doe.virginia.gov\/teaching-learning-assessment\/k-12-standards-instruction\/history-and-social-science\/standards-of-learning\/review-revision-of-the-history-social-science-standards-of-learning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-target-href=\"https:\/\/www.doe.virginia.gov\/teaching-learning-assessment\/k-12-standards-instruction\/history-and-social-science\/standards-of-learning\/review-revision-of-the-history-social-science-standards-of-learning\">six public hearings<\/a> and provide <a title=\"Public Comment on the Proposed Revised 2023 History and Social Science Standards of Learning | VDOE\" href=\"https:\/\/virginiadoe.gov1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_1O0hDq1jYh2LkR8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-target-href=\"https:\/\/virginiadoe.gov1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_1O0hDq1jYh2LkR8\">written comment<\/a> before March 21.
